Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.5.0 Build 20190404 Rel. 57144

Hello!

I have beein using EAP 225 v3 for about 8-10 months and no issues.

However, I added a POE IP Camera this week from Reolink and it is working OK with local LAN connection but not through wifi using iphone app from Reolink.

When I turn off the WiFi on phone the Data network connection works fine with live view on IP camera.  As soon as I turn ON the WiFi on phone the IP camera connections no longer works.

Any suggestion is appreciated.  Below is config for the Wireless Control Rule.

Hello! I added IP Camera's IP: 192.168.1.33/32 into the ACL rule under Exclude Subnet and now it works. Also, if you don't mind letting me know what does this mean when excluding IP of camera in ACL list? Thank You! sp9239

What IPs do the cameras have? Do you use DHCP also for stationary devices such as cameras?

I am using only ONE camera. The DHCP IP 192.168.1.33 which is within the network range. Also, the wifi device with Reolink app is also getting same range IP.

Temporarily disable the Default ACL for the WLAN. If the app works then, add the camera's IP to the list of excluded subnets before re-enabling the Default ACL.

Great!

The Default ACL blocks access to all private IPs. The Exclude Subnet section excludes certain IPs from this blocking. The camera app needs to access the camera if connected via WLAN, thus you need to exclude the camera's IP from blocking.

I recommend to give the camera a static IP (e.g. 192.168.1.2 if this IP is available in your network). You can either set this static IP in the camera or map the MAC of the camera to a static IP in the DHCP server of your router. For the former, see the camera's manual how to assign it an IP. For the latter, see the router's docs for how to map MAC addresses to a static IP. Remember to exclude this IP in the Default ACL.

Alternatively, map the current IP 192.168.1.33 as a static IP in the router's DHCP server, so that it won't require a change of the ACL later if the camera will be assigned a different IP by the DHCP server.

Please mark my answer as "best solution" so that other users with the same problem can find the solution much quicker. Thanks!

Thanks! again.

Also, if I wan'ted to add a WiFi thermostat with same AP network.

How can I go about excluding IP of WiFi Thermostat to not use Portal / Authentication method?

I think you can add a Free Authentication Policy to allow access for certain devices without authentication, but I never did test it.

On the other hand you could also add a second WLAN/SSID without portal just for IoT devices.

For the former, see the User's Manual of Omada Conroller:
