Just bought a OC200 cloud controller and no matter what I do the cloud led is not blinking. I confirmed that i have internet connection. I tried to directly connect the OC200  to my router and switch using eth1(poe in). In my understanding, the oc200 should blink when there is internet connection. Anyone can show how they connect the oc200 properly?

Hello, 

 

You need to bind your TP-Link ID to the OC200 first, after the TP-Link ID is bound to the OC200, the  LED of the OC200 will be light.

The OC200 needs sufficient power to make the Cloud LED blink.  I did use a phone charger to power it up but the problem I am having is that it is turning off / on sometimes when no user is connected.  We need to reconnect the charger cable again to turn it on.

Do you mean that when you power to the OC200, the OC200 will turn off sometimes?

 

It may be related to the power adapter, the power supply is 802.3af/at PoE or Micro USB (DC 5V/Minimum 1A).

We have this same issue.  Cloud LED Flashes maybe three times when device first powered up, then remains off.  We try to add the OC200 to our account ("bind" it) and we get a "device does not exist" error.

 

We tried resetting, rebooting, nothing works.  

 

The access points we have added all work fine, and local access to the controller works fine, but we can not enable cloud access.  

 

Also, when we try to upgrade the OC200 firmware via local access, we get the error "something wrong: unable to get firmware update information".  
 

Our router indicates the device is connected, and everything else connected has working internet access.  We have tried using both port 1 and port 2 to connect OC200 to router; we are powering OC200 via MicroUSB from a USB3 port.

An USB3 port cannot deliver the required 1A for OC200. Use an USB power supply capable of delivering 1.2A at least (1A permanent current and 20% reserve).

 

Or even better use a TL-POE105S PoE power injector, which is as cheap as a good quality USB power supply, but which enables you to use the USB slot of OC200 for auto-backups on an USB stick if needed.
