Has anybody ever just ran the firmware upgrade or is it absolutely necessary to go back to 192.168.0.1 and then your remote computer to 192.168.0.2? Because I have mine set completely different and I don't want to mess it up I'm probably asking the dumbest question on the forum but somebody on Reddit it said oh you can just run the update.

Firstly you don't need to change the IP address of the switch and your PC to 192.168.0.x. As long as your PC can access your switch.

About the configuration, if you upgrade the firmware of the same hardware version, the configuration will not be lost. You also can export the config file before upgrading, then restore the config file after upgrading.
