Hello @jonas,

yesterday my OC200 arrived. It came with latest firmware 1.0.3 Build 20181016 Rel.33052. Unfortunately, this version of Omada Controller running on OC200 re-introduces the transparency bug for logo images on the portal page I reported for EAP Controller v2.5.3 at December, 2017 to tom.wu already. It was fixed in v2.7.0 already and now re-appeared. See this screenshot:

As you can see, the logo has black background instead of a transparent background as in the original PNG image.

What's more, the logo still gets cropped since v2.5.3 for no reason I can think of (a bug also reported by me at the same time with the transparency bug). In the alternative web UI theme for the EAP Controller v2.7.0 community version I did fix the Javascript code, so that the logo can be cropped to have the aspect ratio of the actual image as it used to be in pre-v2.5.3 versions of EAP/Omada Controller:

I see no reason why a logo should be restricted to a 1:1 aspect ratio.

Please consider to remove the cropping which was introduced in v2.5.x. At least, cropping/aspect ratio enforcement could be made optional for the inexperienced user if OC200 and Omada Controller are supposed to also target the SOHO market.

Hi R1D2,

Thank you for the feedback. We will fixed this problem in the next firmware of OC200.

As for the 1:1 aspect ratio issue, the reason why we keep the ratio is because it may cause some dispaly problem of images, such as white edge.

Hello Jonas,

thanks for coming back to this issue. However, as for white edges this is IMHO a problem of the image itself, not of the CSS or a browser. In older versions of EAP Controller we used a bunch of transparent logos with no such problem. Indeed, it's an 1:1 image now which makes problems cutting off most of our customer's logos.

Therefore, if you think to still need a 1:1 aspect ratio, please consider making it big enough (60% of the max. display width at least) so that non-1:1 logos can be displayed in full size again. Thanks!

Hi R1D2,

Thank you for the feedback. For the 1:1 aspect ratio, we are planning to take off the restriction of the fixed proportion of logo, customers can choose the aspect ratio themselves. It will be optimized in the future Controller version.

@R1D2 @jonas

any update on this? when I first install the omada controller it works fine and the firmware recognized the transparency on the logo. However, when I installed recently additional EAP225 outdoor, for some reason the controller was updated to v 3.0.5 and this is where I experience the transparency bug.

The bug has been fixed and transparent logos work fine in OC200 v1.2.3 Build 20200430.

You just have to confirm the logo, it's shown w/o transparency in the crop window only, but on the portal page it has transparent background.

However, the transparency bug as well as the 1:1 cropping limitation re-appeared in SDN Controller v4.1.5 for OC200.

In SDN Software Controller transparency works, but 1:1-cropping did re-appear (in both versions, for Windows and Linux).

Both bugs have been already reported to TP-Link R&D.
