EAP225-Outdoor: new firmware released (introduces fast roaming and mesh networking)
New firmware 1.3.0 for EAP225-Outdoor has been released just today.
This is from the release notes:
- Add support for mesh networking which allows you to deploy EAP wirelessly.
- Add support for Fast Roaming (802.11k/v) which can improve user experience when roaming between the EAPs.
For mesh networking Omada Controller V2.7 is needed (couldn't still find it yet on the TP-Link websites).
For Fast Roaming wireless clients must support IEEE 802.11k/v to take effect.

I wonder when also 802.11r will be launched as CAP1200 with AC controller supports it. Do you have some more information?

It looks like the controller is required to enable fast roaming, 802.11k but is the controller required to be continiously available for this to work, or can this be setup once with the controller software then the controller stopped. Will the the 802.11k functionality continue to work without it ?
