I recently purchased an EAP110-Outdoor and am trying to set it up. I have been able to access the management interface and update the settings via the EAP's WiFi network but am unable to obtain an IP address from the device, regardless of whether I have updated the device settings or following a reset. The EAP's WiFi network is constant and I can always connect to it.

In the management interface of my main router it shows up as connected for a few seconds and then goes away again. Around 15-20 seconds later it will show up and disappear again repeatedly. I have tried turning off the router's firewall but this does not help.

I am using 1 cat 5e and 1 cat 6 cable to connect to the device and to the router via the POE controller. I have a UK plug for the POE controller that I am plugging into an EU socket via an adaptor.

I have tried plugging the LAN cable from the POE adaptor into my computer directly but again get an intermittent connection that only flickers on before turning off again.

Thanks!

Not very clear, do you mean the wireless clients connected to your EAP can not obtain IP address? Then how can you access AP's management interface? Besides, why you say t he EAP's WiFi network is constant and I can always connect to it? Just curious about your real issues...

Besides, I am also not very familiar with the PoE controller? What is it?
Would you please give a detailed topology and description about your problem, just interested about your case.

Any way, for such issue, I think you need to pay attention to the distance between the wireless clients and AP, besides, whether there are any wireless interference nearby?
Such factors might introduce an instability.

You can give your computer a static IP address and can access management interface that way without being assigned an IP from the AP. I think this is explained in the installation instructions. I was sat next to the AP so no issue with distance.

PoE controller

This is the Power over Ethernet controller. It allows you to connect to the AP using just the ethernet cable. I received a response from TP Link directly about this and a replacement POE controller was sent out. When the faulty one was replaced the issue was solved so that was the problem.

So the problem lies on the unstable power supply, thanks for your sharing.
