I'm currently using an unmanaged TP-Link TL-SG1016D. My goal is to remotely prevent/allow access to our smart TV which is connected to the TP-Link switch via Ethernet cable. Unfortunately, the TV only allows restriction by rating but the kids have full access to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. I would like to prevent that by physically disabling the network port that serves the television using the smart switch remote management. Is this possible with an Easy Smart Switch like the TL-SG1024DE?

I should warn you, I am not particularly literate in the ways of network setup or management. Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions.

No, Easy smart switch doesn't support remote management.

are you saying the OP should connect his Dot to the cell plan network and not his home wi-fi network? If so, this is weird and not standard procedure.

there's no reason why this cannot be done with the easy smart switch. Just log into the web console and disable the port that the TV is connected to... not hard on page 27 http://static.tp-link.com/Easy%20Smart%20Switch_User%20Guide.pdf
