Hi,

I am trying to setup a VPN from my iPhone to the VPN router, but seem to fail.
Anyone have tried to accomplish that or point to a guide?

I forgot to mention, that the VPN connection is on the same XP box where the 3G is shared, and that works fine.

In essence, since R600VPN only supports Client-to-lan VPN via PPTP, new OS versions of Apple devices and computers will no longer work with R600VPN.

I'm trying to find new hardware to replace my R600VPN which supports Client-to-lan L2TP/IPsec, does anyone know which TP-LINK device supports this? I'm looking for the least expensive solution since I only run a small business.

I heard the ER6020 should support Client-to-lan L2TP/IPsec, but then read in another forum post dated 2016-12-15, that this device would only work for iOS devices after TPLINK Support emailed a BetaFirmware release to the user. TPLINK has not pushed out a new firmware for the ER6020 since 2015 and I've read posts on this forum of only some users being able to get BetaFirmwares from Tech Support while others are left out in the dark. TPLINK, when will the new firmware for ER6020 be released which supports L2TP/IPsec for iOS10??

Please Help!

After doing further reading on this forum, it seems the ER604W is the least expensive TPLINK solution for Client to Lan L2TP/IPsec with the BetaFirmware to fix iOS10 issues here: http://tp-link-support.de/firmware/

Auch .... just bought my R600 and got it to work with PPTP. But indeed the iPADs don't work....
I can only hope there will be a firmware update, or a PPTP client for iOS... but a firmware update to support client to lan ipsec would be greatly appreciated ....

I just stumbled across this somewhat old thread ... and while I have not tried it yet, the Amazon listing for the R600VPN now touts L2TP support ... so maybe the firmware updates will now provide that functionality (at least on the latest hardware revisions, perhaps).

Dear @Dan_C,

I just stumbled across this somewhat old thread ... and while I have not tried it yet, the Amazon listing for the R600VPN now touts L2TP support ... so maybe the firmware updates will now provide that functionality (at least on the latest hardware revisions, perhaps).

You are right, this is an old thread. The problem discussed in the thread was about the old version TL-R600VPN V1/V2/V3. Now is the new version TL-R600VPN V4, which adds more advanced functions and it does support L2TP VPN, more powerful than old versions.

If you are interested, check more info by searching the model from the TP-Link official website.

https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/vpn-router/tl-r600vpn/

Any further questions about the TP-Link products, we encourage you to start a new thread on the TP-Link Community. Have a nice day!
