Hardware Version :

ISP :

Can I connect an SFP cable/connection to an SFP+ port on the T1700G-28TQ or in other words can I use a 1G connection on a 10G port?
Are they backward compatible? And I mix speeds between ports? Since there are 4, can I have 2 running on SFP/1G and the other 2 on SFP+/10G?

In most cases it should work. See http://www.cables-solutions.com/can-i-use-sfp-transceiver-in-sfp-plus-slot.html for more information.

TP-Link datasheet claims compatibility with TL-SM311SM/LM, which are SFP modules: http://static.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/T1700-28TQ_1.0.pdf

@razeldazel2 I am also familiar with optical modules now. There are many types of packages and it takes time to remember.

QSFP28 is one of the most popular optical modules.
