EAP220 5GHz channel selection restricted

1) Currently commissioning two EAP220. All working well so far. However, for the 5GHz wireless the only options to select the channels either Auto or the first 4 channels (36, 40, 44, 48).Why would that be the case and is there any work around 5Hz should give me many more channels to prevent channel congestion?
2) Under the same notion, Tx power output is restricted to 17, which gives me rather low range. Any option to increase the range on 5Ghz?
