I just purchased the ER6120 for the dual wan as well as DMZ feature to attach another router for a gaming subnet and public IP pointing to the DMZ IP. I've gotten everything to work so far, NAT one to one, port forwards for games and PSN, bandwidth control, "aggregated speeds", all of this is working. My issue is the TP-Link is causing my latency to more than double. Removing the ER6120 and just using the gaming router I see an almost flat ping graph hovering at 18-23ms. With the ER6120 in place I see 22 then 54 then 22 then 53 then 32 then 56ms... The graph looks like a zig zag and this makes for a terribly inconsistent gameplay. On my PC behind the gaming router I see the exact same issue. We also have a colocated dedicated server in Dallas and the ping to that device without anyone in game are horrendous. Did I make a mistake in purchase? Everyone said the reviews were great, the SMB side would give me more performance, etc... so far this is unacceptable. I have went through all of the Algorithms one by one and it makes no change. I have removed all security features from attack defense with no joy. If you can offer any advice please help. The gaming router has a specific geofilter that allows me to lock in servers on PS4 and decide where I want to connect is the reasoning behind two routers. I realize some latency fluctuation is normal but over double and back and forth is introducing jitter like results that I shouldn't have.

This was an issue with my WAN1 rules for the DMZ port. I moved/swapped WAN services placing the fastest in WAN 1 and made rules for DMZ and DHCP clients and the ping issue is resolved. Now on to NAT. Before the moves and rules I had OPEN/NAT type 2 on my gaming router in the DMZ, now I am STRICT/NAT type 3. rules are set and ports are manually forwarded... weird.

Just because I hate when people post and never update.... I simply deleted the config and rebuilt all rules with the wan reconfig. And all is well. All gaming via the Netduma/DMZ are happy.

The latency is with 48ms averaged extremely high vs the latency of a pitch shifting and buffer FX with 16ms Even without any FX or instrument inside

For daily use I wouldnt worry about latency and Id recommend a 3200 kit over 3600 kit because 3600 may not even work with haswell-e at rated speed

Lots of "technical" without real world results. A shift from 18ms in engine running then spikes of an additional 30-40ms is cause for concern in latency sensitive enviroments. I'd hate to use a voip call or play a video game on your networks lol. Good luck with that Mediocrity. But hey, bonus for accepting things you cannot change. You at least brought that away from your meetings.

Thanks for letting others know. I'm considering replacing an old WAN router by a TL-ER6120 and am glad to hear that it performs well!
