correct, I've tried depressing the button for multiple seconds and even turning it off and on while pressing reset without look.

Have you ever try to reset your switch by telnet?
Click Start → Run to open the Run window, and type in telnet 192.168.0.1 in the prompt Run window
Type in the User name and Password (the factory default value for both of them are admin) and press the Enter button to enter User EXEC Mode.

Then,type in enable command to enter Privileged EXEC Mode.

Finally, type reset.
