Hi All,

I'm looking for a switch for a Real-Time enviroment we are setting up in work and I have a few questions...
Highest speed and lowest latency are a must and therefore I'm seeking for the best solution.
Is there a difference between the kinds of switches exist (unmanaged/managed/smart switch) or between specific models in terms of latency and response times or the only differences sum up to features?
What are the tools that exist that can allow me to physically test the delay/response time between a packet I send through one port of the switch and until it gets to the destination machine through another port of the switch?

I've posted this message here since managed switches are the most "Advanced" category of all switches types (AFAIK)...

Really need you help here...
