Model : TL-SG2008

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 1.0.3

ISP :

We have found that setting the Network Security->DoS Defend->Blat Attack feature to enable will interfere with the mDNS/Bonjour traffic to the Fast Ethernet HP Photosmart Printer model C7280 for Apple device access.

This particular DoS defense feature is also available in two other managed switch brands we own, but neither cause the interference/reproduce the problem when the feature is enabled. Only the TP-Link version of this setting exhibits this behavior.

The problem behavior is that when Blat Attack is enabled on the TL-SG2008 the HP printer becomes "offline" for Apple devices, both iOS and MacOS X (Apple devices use the mDNS/Bonjour multicast protocol to communicate ink level and network printer status). The other TP-Link DoS defense settings with this switch do not cause any issues, so for now we leave Blat Attack disabled for this printer situation. As soon as Blat Attack is disabled, the printer again becomes "Online" and fully accessible.

We are running the last firmware update available at the USA TP-Link website for this switch, v1.0.3 Build 20150624 Rel.57993.
