I have a sg1008 switch that I would like to use to power 2 ip cameras. The specific cameras are the alarm.Com adc v720w poe ready cameras. Any insight as to what I can do to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

Your cameras are 802.3af PoE compliant?
The switch is TL-SG1008 instead of TL-SG1008P? But it is TL-SG1008P that has four PoE ports.

I have the tl-sg1008p switch with 4 port poe. The camera is poe ready but I don't know if it is 802.3af poe compliant. If I use a poe splitter will that work?

tl-sg1008p can power on PoE IEEE 802.3af compliant PDs. If your cameras are not, you can use tl-sg1008p plus four TL-POE10Rs to power them on.
