Model : TP-Link TL WA7210n

Hardware Version : V2

Firmware Version :

ISP :Vodafone

Hi., My name is Rui from Portugal.
I am setting up a link to my daughters house and I have a few questions, for wich I ask for your knowledge.
I have it working, but with very low speeds and problems with IP assignements.

This is my setup:

At home I have:
Vodafone Technicolor router with LAN port 4 connected to a TP-Link TL WA7210n mounted in the rooftop. I am in a very high building. It is setup as an Acess Point in channel 11 bgn mixed, channel width auto 27 Dbm, distance setting 0.9 and a fixed ip. DHCP Disabled.

At my daughters I have:
TP-Link TL WA7210n mounted in the rooftop, in line of sight 900m away It is setup as Bridge with AP 11 bgn mixed, channel width auto 27 Dbm, distance setting 0.9 and a fixed ip in the same range as mine. DHCP Disabled. In Antenna alignment I get 70% with RSSI at 30.
This connected to a LAN port of a wireless router, Asus WL-500G Premium V2 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) mega - build 14896 setup as AP Mixed Channel 1 DHCP enabled.

I access the web interface of all devices from home. I live in a city probably with many people using Wi-Fi.

The problem is I get very low speeds, under 1Mb, using the speed test on the TP-Link's web interface and the Asus did not manage accept wireless connections before I turned on it's DHCP. Now it does and for example smartphones connect easily and access the internet.
A PC connected to another LAN por of that ASUS does not manage to access the net.

So I have 2 problems. Very low speeds and no net on the LAN ports of the ASUS.
Should I change the IP settings, DHCP server, or am I missing something here.
What I need is to have wireless in my daughters house and also she being able to access my printers and shared folders.

Can you give me some advice?

Thanks in advance.

Rui Tavares

Change your set up to AP at your home Client mode at your daughter
If you are in a high building tilt down 7210 to Client

1. Bridge with AP is not a good choice for your purpose in the scenario. It's better to configurate the 7210N at your daught's home to work on AP Client Router mode and enable its DHCP.
2. Adjust 7210N in your home to face the other one in your daught's.
3. Wired connect your ASUS wireless router to the LAN port of 7210N and configurate its channel to 1(or 6 is OK).
Wish above could help you.

@stupidbird AP-Client-Router mode with dhcp enable it's a repeating mode, all devices no matter brand or model set to repeating, pay a 50% data penalty rate

@danymarc
That's right. Thank you for your reminding. It's a better choice to choose client mode.

I followed your advice and set up my daughters device to client with DHCP enabled.
Didn´t help.
But suddently I realised that there was a cellular antenna very close, and remembered that although they work on another frequency, there could be some harmonics hitting the 2.4Ghz band.
I moved the daughters TP-Link a few meters away and now I get from 3 to 7 Mb link, which is good :)
Maybe if I attach a very directional external antenna, like a Cantenna, thinks can improve even more...

About the other problem I still can´t get internet on the lan ports of the WL500 with dd-wrt.
But wireless is ok.
Strange.
The pc conected to the lan port can only acess the webpage of the tp link's and of the router, and also can reach files in a shared folder of the PC in my house. I can also remote desktop to home, but not the other way.
I even activated USB and put a USB pen there but can´t see it from home.
So, almost half of the problem solved :)

From your post #1
This connected to a LAN port of a wireless router, Asus WL-500G Premium V2 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) mega - build 14896 setup as AP Mixed Channel 1 DHCP enabled.
If you connect to a Lan port of the Asus means it's in AP mode not a Router mode, so DHCP on Asus should be disable not enable as you post
Test the link without the Asus, connect a Computer direct to the Lan port coming from 7210 and post results

I think it's helpful for you to provide the LAN IP of all device

Ok.
On my side, the Techicolor Router wich is the one connected to the service provider has IP 192.168.1.254 and has DHCP enabled. The TP Link in my house is connected to that one and has IP 192.168.1.200. The TP link in my Daughter's has IP 192.168.1.201 and has DHCP enabled. The Asus has that TP link connected to Lan port 1 and has IP 191.168.1.202 and has DHCP forwarder to the TP links' IP. It is set up as AP, no MAC filter,
would send the backup files if it would help, but the security settings would also be there, right? :)
Should I connect the TP link to the WAN port instead?

Any ip you set between 50&254 it's wrong, cause you are in DHCP pool of ISP router
set ips in this range 2 to 49 any Numbers you like beteeen those
