Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.20.7

Hello
I upgraded my network from 2 switches (one was managed and one unmanaged)

Now I have the SG3428X-M2.. it is working fine.

But I noticed wake on lan doesn't work anymore, as from my local network as from the internet with wireguard. I plugged back in the old tp link unmanaged switch and it worked.

MLD and IGMP snoofing is turned off.. I also tried to play around with settings like EEE (which is disabled) and loop detection, spanning tree). The PC I wanna wake up from mobile is my native VLAN1 as before..

Anyone experienced something similar and knows how to fix that?

And as information for some reason with the SG3428X-M2 the network indicator leds are not blinking on the motherboard when the pc is off.. the ones on my network card do after I set the speed manually since this one is connected to the SFP+ ports of the switch, if I plug in the old switch they light again, so that's not the issue I guess.

Edit: Since I use original TP-Link Omada SFP+ modules that could be the issue why it is not working on the PCI-E lan interface to what I read in the forum, but still then the motherboard one should work.

I got an expected solution the SFP+ module turns off if my PC is off (even if the sleep speed is set to 1 or 10gig.. but when I plug in the RJ45 port it works.. seems like my motherboards port never worked lol.. I'm also using now a different tool were I can select the port to use (in my case 7 works).

This is the tool https://apps.apple.com/de/app/wake-me-up-wake-on-lan/id1465416032
Thank you very much for your help and if I can find a way to make it with the SFP+ I will post it into here too.

Hi @Julian2111

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Switch should not block it.

So, only after the upgrade, do you experience this issue?

Possible to test it in standalone? Without touching the config, just plug it and play and see if it is actually the firmware that causes the trouble.

Or Wireshark to follow the stream.

Without a diagram, I cannot decide where to start Wireshark, maybe the uplink on the switch. Or the router. To see if the magic packet is available on the router, and on the switch.

That is how it is connected, I also tested the RJ45 ports as uplink, so the SFP uplink shouldn't be the problem..

Before that one port of my PC was connected to the Eth1 interface of the router and the PCI-E RJ45 card connected to any unmanaged switch that was connected over the Eth2 to the router. If it only worked between the unmanaged switch I though there is a general problem in my config, but since the direct connection to the router worked too, I though that couldn't be the problem.

I tested standalone couldn't get it working there too, but since I have 5 VLANs I need, I couldn't spend much time into it.

You can consider downgrading your firmware before we have a conclusion.

If you have downgraded it and the WOL works again, let me know.

I am gonna send this to the test and see if they have a reproduction of this issue.
