VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0 LAN SETTING PROBLEM
VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0 LAN SETTING PROBLEM

GOOD MORNING ALL, I purchased an NVR model VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0. This product in not in Model list above. I installed it in my network via LAN cable and it recognized my Tapo C510W and C500 cameras. I assigned it a static IP in the LAN SETTING section but if I set my normal gateway it does not connect to the internet and all the other devices are offline. I have to set a fake network address but this does not allow the NVR to connect to the internet, receive firmware updates, register in the TP-link ID and so on. What could be the problem? Thanks for anyone who can help me.

Hi @nikti
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
Your router is on a static IP.
Why would you use this as a gateway?
It should be 192.168.1.1, which is your router. Where does this 192.168.1.252 come from?

hi @Clive_A ,
my router has static IP 192.168.1.1
If I set 192.168.1.1 as gateway on NVR all other devices doesn't work on internet as I write on my first post. And however, also NVR doesn't work on internet.
This is the problem.
My NVR has only two port: LAN and WAN as photo posted (white one).

This is totally counterintuitive.
Are you saying that you configure the NVR default gateway IP in LAN settings would disconnect all other devices in the same network 192.168.1.1/24 from the Internet?
Are you really sure?
So far I find you might not be able to properly set up your network because you were mistaking the IP address stuff.
I asked if the ports on the NVR would come up green LED. That was not answered. And all of the stuff you told me so far seems to be entirely against all my basic networking knowledge.
The rest of the setup seems to be problematic. But I just want to make sure the NVR is fine and the connection is okay. I want to know if you connect the NVR directly to the router, with the default gateway IP 192.168.1.1 and connect a computer to the other port on the NVR, will it get an IP address? Screenshot.
If you connect the PC to the router directly, will you get an IP address?
If you really need a setup walkthrough on basic router-AP setup with the other two devices, contact the vendor support and make sure they are fine before you start to config the LAN settings of the NVR.
And till now, after so many replies, you have not told me what the IP is, 192.168.1.252? This is not a gateway. If you want Internet, the gateway IP on the NVR LAN setting has to be the same as other devices in the network(192.168.1.0/24). I don't know why you set it to 1.252 when it is clearly not the default gateway(which is supposed to be 192.168.1.1).
Look, I cannot help you with the setup of other devices. All I am doing now is to tell you what a proper and normal network is supposed to be. You follow the same idea to make sure your other settings are correct. That's not my job to fix the problem with other devices in your network. Till now, everything looks like a mess with the router-AP side. NVR is misconfigured.

My NVR has only two ports: LAN and WAN.
- If I connect WAN port of the NVR to AP/router this port is blinking but i cannot connect it by web page (192.168.1.253:60000) through PC connected in wifi and the same if connect the PC via cable to LAN port of the NVR. See foto (NVR is the white one, AP is the black one) and ipconfig screenshot.

If I insert the correct gateway on the NVR (192.168.1.1) all devices in my net will be disconnected form internet and, howerver, also NVR is non connected to internet.
If I connect PC directly to router (via cabe or via wifi) i obtain a IP address:
AP is TP-LINK Archer C6 4.0 and works fine with all my other devices.

192.168.1.252 is a fake gateway because If I sent 192.168.1.1 all my net is out of works. I use 1.252 temporarily in order to have all other devices connected and acces su web page to NVR.

I do not know, until now I do not have any problem. I have more than 20 devices (tuya, zigbee, ewelink, alexa, pc, printers, tapo cameras...) and all work fine inside or outside my wifi net...only NVR work only inside the my net and I cannot connect to internet.
Furthermore my NVR (VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0) is not present in any web site o documentation...

Did you enable the DHCP on this NVR? If you set it in NVR mode, this should not be enabled.
If you directly connect the NVR to the router, what do you get?
Anyway, this should be 1.1 instead of any other IP address. To get Internet, it has to be set with the router IP(192.168.1.1).
This is a problem with the network settings. This is the final goal we need to achieve. So, direct to the router, what IP do you get? Set it with 192.168.1.1 as the gateway IP, does it work?
Make sure DHCP is not enabled, enable WIFI on the NVR, connect the LAN port to the router LAN and I want to know if you can get an IP on a wireless device and its IP info when the NVR is connected to the router directly, with gateway IP 192.168.1.1.
It affects all other devices when the NVR is set to a default gateway of 192.168.1.1; in that case, what IP do you get on the devices?
