VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0 LAN SETTING PROBLEM
VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0 LAN SETTING PROBLEM

GOOD MORNING ALL, I purchased an NVR model VIGI NVR1108H-W(EU) 1.0. This product in not in Model list above. I installed it in my network via LAN cable and it recognized my Tapo C510W and C500 cameras. I assigned it a static IP in the LAN SETTING section but if I set my normal gateway it does not connect to the internet and all the other devices are offline. I have to set a fake network address but this does not allow the NVR to connect to the internet, receive firmware updates, register in the TP-link ID and so on. What could be the problem? Thanks for anyone who can help me.

Hi @nikti
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
NVR can be a device like a router. It can be the DHCP server.
Or you should consider not making it a router.
Don't make it a router(second option) but make it a real NVR.
Then, you don't have to set up the WAN. Connect the NVR to the network, your router, and it will get a DHCP IP. Rest of the devices will get an IP from the router as well.

Use Surveillance mode.
Like the picture I gave.
That turns into the NVR like a switch. Just a regular NVR.

OK. Connect a PC to the NVR, what IP does it get? Run ipconfig.
Ping 192.168.1.1, what's the result?
Ping 8.8.8.8, result?

Did you connect your router to the NVR?
You need your router's LAN to connect a port on the NVR. Random one. That supplies the uplink(for the NVR). So it can get Internet.
You don't connect your router to the NVR, which causes it to acquire no IP and Internet.

hi @Clive_A ,
NVR has only two ports: LAN and WAN. In this photo you can see access point (connected to router via LAN in the WAN port) and NVR connected to AP via LAN port)

Same yellow cable goes to a PC, will the PC get an IP?
169.254.x.x IP means the DHCP server is not active. Or the DHCP request is not answered.
The port does not even flash the Ethernet LED. Are you sure this cable is working?
