router(LAN)---(LAN)TL-SG1024D(LAN)---Server?
Bypassing the switch, the server can access internet?
The switch is a plug and play device. To figure out the problem, Any other PCs available there for you to test?
When the server is connected to the switch, can you check IP address on the server?

configured as follows

bt fibre into cable modem then into homehub
DHCP switched off in hub
single cable up to 1024D, lots of devices connected to 1024D but a single cable goes to server which manages my system and exchange
Dell poweredge 2950 64bit |SBS 2011

i then try to connect to internet on server, no joy
unplug the 1024D and connect 1016
and everything works

maybe its the green element that is throwing the server off?
the server is my DHCP and manages my ip addresses

its weird
16 port works fine
24 port wont let server connect to internet??

ideas would be appreciated, i am using 16port at the moment
