Hi guys im a newbie, I am planning a solar powered tower , where I need to power up A tplink Switch (Tl-SF1005D) , it a 5 port switch that cam with a 5v power input adapter, I Wish to connect 12v direct into it , will it blow the switch or is tp link compayible for solar and inserting12v direct into equipment ??? Please advice ???

Maybe it will work but it is not recommended to do so because it may shorten lifetime of your switch and cause damage to it. Such kind of damage is not covered by warranty.

what i would do is get some type of 12vdc to 5vdc converter, and hook it up this way :


solar panel to>>>> battry to>>> 12vdc to 5vdc converter>>> to switch OR solarpanel TO inverter (IN USA IS 120VAC) >> then plug your 5vdc power supply into the inverter .
BUT this will only work in the day time.
