Different LED blinking patterns between different models
Dear all.
I have replaced an old D-Link DSG 1210-28 switch by an SG3428X a while ago and since then I was wondering about the blinking pattern of the SG3428X. While with the D-Link, the LEDs blinked sort of proportional to the real data transferred, the LEDs of the SG3428X blinked nervously all of the time. But OK, maybe this is just TP-Link's interpretation of transferred data which is probably more sensitive.
Now, I have connected an SX3008F via LACP to the SG3428X. Surprisingly, the blinking pattern is inconsistent. While the SG3428X continues to blink with high frequency, the SX3008F shows the same behavior as the old D-Link did.
For demonstration, I append a video of the test. The LACP link between the switches is at port 25 and 26 of the SG3428X and at port 5 and 6 of the SX3008F. It can be seen, that the blinking pattern is inconsistent.
I can assure, that there is no loop in the network. The only difference is the replaced switch. Anyway, loopback detection is on at all edge ports and RSTP is activated and configured for the links between switches.
It would be great, if TPLink can harmonize the blinking patterns of their switches and by doing that, it would be great to have the bahavior of the SX3008F on the SG3428X as well. Or is there any way to configure this on my own?
Kind regards
Martin
