Migrating OC200 to OC300 same site in one go with config restore?
I have been given the OK by management to get an OC300 as an upgrade to our OC200, as we need the future management capacity, and I will want to enable RADIUS in the future, as well as it being a higher performance unit
My intention is to simply replace it on my management network at our main site with the same IP as the OC200 had.
I have played around with the controller migration feature (testing OC200 to a temporary software controller on a PC and back to the OC200) so i am familiar with how it works, but i am unclear if i can just do the following..
(assuming OC200 and OC300 are on same controller version)
Can i not just backup the entire config of the OC200, and restore it on the OC300, configure the settings that dont get carried over (IP address etc) and just plug it in? If the OC300 is on the same IP as the OC200 was, and it has the entire configuration file restored on it, wont it just re-adopt everything automatically?
If this cannot work ill just have to set it up with a temporary IP, migrate one site at a time, and then change its IP afterwards and deal with any devices that dont follow its new IP address when i change it after migrating everything with the discovery tool.
