Hello!

I have an interesting problem.

I've had a smart circuit breaker connected to an AP in the garage. It was locked to AP.

I've recently moved the circuit breaker to home (there is no reception of the garage AP) and it connected, however the wifi signal was weak, although the breaker was 1m away from another AP, so I've decided to re-connect the AP by resetting it.

I'm now trying to connect the breaker to an IoT network (to which it was already connected), but I fail.

I've tried:

1. connecting to guest wifi (also 2.4ghz)

2. creating dedicated wifi from scratch

I think the issue may be connected to the lock-to-AP function - I've locked the breaker to the garage AP. Where do I 'unlock' it? Normally it would need to be connected to the controller, so that I can 'unlock' it, but it's now disconnected.

Thanks for all the tips!

Hi  @mimi234

You need to connect the smart circuit breaker to the network, and go to the config page, uncheck the lock to AP option.

Hi @mimi234

Moved from the router page to the WIFI as the whole post is about the WIFI problems.

Hi! Yes, I know that, however - I can't connect the device to the network. As we are talking about a circuit breaker - it's now in electrical cabinet, so it is very cumbersome to take it out, so I am looking for a place in the controller, where the controller is storing the info on lock to AP

Indeed the problem of re-connecting the device at a different location was the 'lock-to-AP' - i've unmounted the device, moved to the old location, re-connected, went back home to disable 'lock-to-AP' (as this can only be done via web UI), remounted the device at a new location and I was able to connect. SUGGESTION TO TP-LINK: please add a menu, where one can see all clients that have the link to AP enabled and allow for disabling withouth the device being connected to Omada.
