I would like to see Omada step up and overtake Ubiquiti.  Perhaps software is behind but TP Link could click their fingers and overtake in hardware just like that.

Let me tell you what I would like to see.

My Router Request:

--

A router with 4-8 cores, 4-8GB of RAM.  1x USB 3.0 Port, 1x Simcard Slot (5G with 2 arials and 2 extra ports to allow additional arials to be connected) 1x SPF (any speed), 2x 2.5G LAN RJ45 (Primary WAN/LAN), 2x Gigabit and 4x POE Gigabit in the one switch!  Doesn't need to be WIFI!  .........  That would be capable of doing IPS properly!  Priced what around $500 AUD? ......

Basically I want 4G backup with arials attached as well as the ability to hook the ones up on my roof that have a cable to the server room, I want 1x SPF Port ......  could be used as a VDSL or whatever.  2.5G to support the upcoming high speed internet.  I want the 4x POE Gigabit because eg.  when you have a power outage, all the POE WIFI goes down if the POE Switch isn't in the UPS as we just had recently.

And as for the 4-8 cores, your still is based on ARM.......  AliExpress has HEAPS of the rockchip/arm 8 Core chips floating around.  TP Link can do it.

No internal power supply.  Some peope like that I don't the plug is much larger and is a problem where my router goes.  Plus it's easier to replace an external power pack then an internal power supply!

---

My Controller Request:

I know the OC220 is coming out, I will buy one AS SOON AS IT IS OUT!  My OC200 is too slow.  Hopefully the OC220 has four good cores, eight would be better.  ATLEAST 2GB RAM, 4GB would be better and faster nand on it.  The boot time has to be fixed hey.  No 100MBps, has to be Gigabit or higher.

I just wished TP Link would hurry up and make my all in one router.

Sorry for piggy backing on your post, but I agree. I have used Ubiquiti's Unifi both in personal and corporate environments, and love Omada's approach and prefer it over what Unifi offers. There are a few things though that absolutely have to be addressed for it to get there.

First and foremost, routers should apply configurations dynamically, and just reload the configuration instead of doing a full reboot. That is paramount and is something that needs to be made available as soon as humanly possible, and should be for every single routing device TP-LINK offers through Omada. Right now, if you apply a change to a router, it will most likely restart to apply the configuration (depending on what you changed). Using the ER-605 as an example, if that device is fully configured and running a decent sized configuration, with multiple internet connections and an external controller, it can take 5-10 minutes for it to come back online. And if you make multiple consecutive changes, each of which requires a reboot to apply, it will reboot for each one of them, until it's completed.

I have 3 routers in the same controller that have a site to site between systems and when I make a change on one of the routers, the entire 3 site system goes down for something as simple as enabling load balancing.

That is really my only major complaint, each piece of network gear has it's own quirks, but TP-Link for the most part is rock solid.

Also completely unrelated, why when visiting the US site am I being told when I make a post that I have to use the US site, and then being redirected back to where I clicked to make a post to be presented with the message that I have to use the US site...

I legit can't make a new post, thus why I had to comment here...
