Model: VIGI NVR1016H
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: VIGI NVR1016H(UN)_V1.20_1.2.1 Build 241227

Hi,

I am using a Japanese NVR1016H(UN) V1.20 to receive four RTSP streams from an old Hikvision DVR. Everything was working fine until a few weeks ago, but now the streams disconnect after a few minutes, showing "No Network Video." Rebooting the Hikvision DVR restores the streams, but only for a few minutes before they disconnect again.

I believe this issue started after upgrading to firmware VIGI NVR1016H(UN)_V1.20_1.2.1 Build 241227. The problem does not seem to originate from the Hikvision DVR, as I can stream the same RTSP feeds with VLC for several hours without any issues.

I attempted to downgrade to VIGI NVR1016H(UN)_V1.20_1.1.3 Build 241024, but the NVR rejects the file. The filename inside the zip (nvr2016h16pv1_en_1_1_3_up_boot_24102475761-signed.bin) suggests it is for V1 instead of V1.20, so I am unsure if it's the correct firmware.

The logs do not provide much useful information:

Hi @sparkplug

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You downgrade to 2016H but you have 1016H?

If you downgrade, does the issue disappear?

If so, that's to say that after you upgrade to the new firmware, without any config changes, hardware, power, or any changes, it becomes unstable and randomly disconnects the streams?

Thanks for you reply.

I didn’t downgrade to 2016H.

The file nvr2016h16pv1_en_1_1_3_up_boot_24102475761-signed.bin was inside the ZIP file VIGI NVR1016H(UN)_V1.20_241024.zip, which I downloaded from the VIGI NVR1016H V1.20 page:
https://www.vigi.com/jp/support/download/vigi-nvr1016h/#Firmware

I’m not sure if they uploaded the wrong file or if this is some kind of universal firmware, but I couldn’t downgrade. When I try to upload the firmware to the NVR, I get the following error: "Unable to load the firmware file. Make sure the firmware file is correct and the network is connected, then try again."

I believe the issue is caused by the new firmware since I haven’t made any other changes. However, I only noticed the problem a couple weeks after the upgrade, so I can’t be 100% sure. That’s why I’d like to downgrade first to confirm.

Hi @sparkplug

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

1. Under the control of the NVR, the main and substream of the RTSP, what are their status? Is the mainstream still functional but only the substream got problems?

2. Remove an RTSP device from the NVR, add it again, and configure RTSP. Make sure the substream is selected. And will it work?

3. In the device list, what is the status of the RTSP devices? Mark them out.
