HOW TO?? Setup TL-SG2424 to send SYSLOG

Recently put in the SG2424. On the remote log host page trying to configure it to send to my local syslog server. It's not intuitive at all - on how to enter an IP and save it. Each time I enter the IP of the syslog server and then select a host slot, the IP disappears. If I FIRST select the host box then I can NOT enter the IP address for the syslog server. Have read the docs and searched the faqs. It's not intuitive. CAn someone explain how to complete this?
