VLAN Configuration Troubles
I have port 1 on connected directly to the router.
I also have a TP-Link TL-WA901N that is configured to provide 4 separate SSIDs. Each of them is assigned a different VLAN: 100, 110, 200 & 300. I've got it connected to port 2. So that means port 2 needs to pass traffice for VLAN 100, 110, 200 & 300 through to the WAP. It is my understanding based on what I've read in all the threads that I've found on the topic and all the guides I could find, that I should assign port 1 & 2 both as TAGGED. This should allow the traffic for the all the VLANS to get through. Correct?
Assuming I'm understanding this correctly, I've done that. When I attempt to connect to one of the SSIDs on the WAP, the traffic isn't getting through -- it's as though the switch doesn't recognize the VLAN id's being passed to it from the WAP. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the
EDIT: I forgot to mention that If I connect the AP directly to the router, bypassing the switch, my WiFi devices are able to connect without issue on the correct VLANs. So I'm convinced the AP & router (pfSense) are both configured properly.
EDIT2: There must be something wrong with port 2 on this device -- either hardware or in the firmware. I reconnected the AP to port 3 instead of 2 and marked all the SSID VLANs to include port 3 instead of 2 as tagged. Now all the devices are connecting fine.
