Seamless Roaming EAP245 and EAP653

Hi,
I have 2 EAP245 and 3 EAP225 indoor and 1 EAP225 outdoor working on 1 OC200 and with this setup I have not experienced any issues with the seamless roaming.
But the other day I added a EAP653 to the same OC200 and for some reason my HP Latitude 7450 work computer continuously connects to the EAP653 even if it's much further away and through concrete walls than one of the EAP245 that is 2m away in the office.
My question is, is the EAP653 supposed to be compatible in working seamlessly with the EAP245?

Hi @Blackfrost
This is related to the security mechanism of IOS devices.
When IOS roaming between different APs, if from the encryption method for WPA3 EAP roaming to the encryption method for WPA2 EAP, the device will not be able to associated with the same SSID, resulting in roaming failure. At this time, you need to manually forget the SSID in the IOS client and then connected to succeed, this is how IOS device worked.
To avoid this, you can use WPA2/WPA, not use WPA3.

Hi Blackfrost,
I have the same, with latest firmware, and it seems working correctly for me.
My EAP245 is even in Mesh mode.
Thank you,

Hi @Blackfrost

>>>Yes
If you remove the EAP653, will the HP Latitude 7450 roam again?
What's the security mode and WPA mode of the SSID settings?

>>> Security = WPA-Personal and WPA Mode = WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE / AES (the only option available)
I replaced all my EAP225 with EAP653 as well now so my current setup is 2 EAP245 and 4 EAP653 indoor and 1 EAP225 outdoor working on 1 OC200.
And my iPhone 13 has also started to behave a bit weird, always preferring one of the EAP653 even if there are much better and closer APs.
I have a feeling it has to do with WiFi 6, I'm going to try to turn it off now for a few days and see if that helps.
