Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

My Controller is not resetting after i tried factory reset from the website like i usually do , it didn't reset at all , the previous SSID are still there, but all EAP are showing "managed by others" after i bind and setup again, i tried doing it physically but no it doesn't reset. How do i fix this , even now when i try adopting the EAPs it says failed due password and username being incorrect even when the new device username and password is correct

Hi  @Xbit

You were just reset the controller, not the EAP units. They will keep old settings.

Before the reset, did you backup the config file? If yes, you can restore it and manage the EAPs again;

If there is no config file, you may use the old device account to adopt the EAPs, it's the account on the following page:

If you don't have any of above info, you need to factory reset the EAP units to manage them.

Reset all the devices ie all access points with a pin then you can adopt them and then use the password on the OC

Hi  @Xbit

If you don't have the account before, there is no other way, only to reset all the EAP units. After this, you can use the reset OC200 to adopt these EAP again.

Once being adopted successfully, the controller will clear the SSID settings of the EAP units, and you will be able to configure new SSID on the controller.

@Vincent-TP i did as instructed but now my controller doesn't show up when i sign into my omada even when i logged in and binded during setup after factory reset( note the ip address of the controller refused to load at this point onwards) , i had to add it using device key which was quite hard, and when i tried up the controller now i saw only 6 to adopt out of 13 previously which showed up during the previous setup after resetting

Now  logging into my omada site , the remaining eaps when i tried adopting them i faced the issue of wrong password and username even when they are copied from the "site settings"

What do i do now please 😭? And one who i can't hit up privately as well , maybe a support personnel from Africa, i really need to fix this it's for a school.

Hi  @Xbit

Feel free. So the issue now is there are still some EAP units that can't be adopted by the controller?

For wrong password and username error, the fastest way is to factory reset all the EAP units. After this, you will be able to adopt them successfully.

Here are the general steps to factory reset a TP-Link EAP device:
The reset button is located in a small hole on the back or bottom of the device, we need to use a pin or pen to press and hold the reset button for about 8–10 seconds. While holding the reset button, the device's lights may flash and the device may restart.
Once the device has been reset, it will revert to its factory default settings, you can now access the device using the default credentials admin/admin.
Please note that performing a factory reset will erase all the customized settings on your TP-Link EAP device, so you will need to reconfigure the device after resetting the password.

Hi  @Xbit

Happy to hear you had solved the problem.

You can backup the config file from Global View > Settings > Maintenance > Backup > Export

Saturday

@Vincent-TP  thanks for the aid, i just changed the password to one of my SSID and all of sudden all my ssids were not broadcasting anymore , some eap even changed to "disconnected" i had to unplug and plug them back physically or forget and readopt them digitally. Why is this? And how do i confirm physically or digitally if my omada oc200 hardware controller is faulty
