Hi @Coplig
Thank you for reaching out to the TP-Link community. We understand your concern regarding the performance of your EAP110.
The EAP110 is indeed rated for up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, but it’s important to note that this is the theoretical maximum speed under ideal conditions. In real-world scenarios, factors such as interference, distance from the access point, the number of connected devices, and the capabilities of the client devices can significantly impact the actual throughput. Achieving speeds around 30-50Mbps on the 2.4GHz band is not uncommon in typical environments.
Here are a few suggestions to help optimize your setup:
1. **Check Channel Interference**: Use a Wi-Fi analyzer tool to identify the least congested channel and manually set your EAP110 to that channel in the management interface.
2. **Positioning**: Ensure the EAP110 is placed in a central location, away from obstructions and interference sources like microwaves or cordless phones.
3. **Firmware Update**: Verify that your EAP110 is running the latest firmware, as updates often include performance improvements.
4. **Client Device Capabilities**: Confirm that your client devices support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and are capable of achieving higher speeds.
5. **WPA2 Encryption**: Ensure your Wi-Fi security is set to WPA2-PSK (AES), as older encryption methods like WEP or WPA-TKIP can limit speeds.
