Ubuntu 22.04 fresh installed, running on a Hyper-V environment.

 

Everything is running absolutely great and smooth - locally within LAN with local connectivity.

On the cloud on ther other hand it is continuously disconnecting and reconnecting. Sometimes I get 5 mins of availability, sometimes it shows offline, or online but failing to connect.

On the local settings, at cloud management it says Connected in green. I have more than a dozen setups (all with hardware controllers) - only this one I needed set up using the software controller.

P.S. There is no packet loss neither within the local network, or local to WAN.

 

Do any of you had these kind of issues with software controllers? What could be wrong here?

This is mostly because the connectiion of the software device in unstable.

Please check the physical connection of the linux PC.

 

In the meantime, check if there is any firewall or anti-virus software may affect this.

For future people that might encounter this issue - found the the solution.

The problem was that the Linux installation didn't have a DNS resolver.

 

Most probably the way the software controller is programmed, it tries to connect to a domain name and not an IP (which is actually the correct policy).

So be advised to look for the DNS settings in the virtual instance.
