It's great to have such a simple and straightforward way to set up Failover/Link Backup in the Festa Cloud Controller. But it's difficult to near impossible to know when link backup is activated. And no alert when the link switches from backup over to primary WAN again once the internet is back up on primary.

Please add either:

  1. Event/Alert in Notifications for Link Backup activating and deactivating, or
  2. Live traffic data to show how much traffic is flowing between each WAN port

Thank you.

If this is necessary, you can consider getting an Omada router which currently supports the feature you have requested.

1. Omada supports a graph view of the current WAN. Though it is not a real-time graph. We do not support real-time graphs.

2. WAN up or down is recorded. But it is not possible to display the link backup switch. You can refer to the WAN up/down as a way to tell if the failover takes effect or not.

WAN up/down is an available feature in your Essential Controller or local controller.

And it is worth noticing that if WAN is down, the entire cloud access is disconnected. That may not be recorded by the cloud controller. The log system is based on the report back from the router. If it is disconnected from the Internet, the log system does not reupload what happened during the disconnection. It syncs the current status. Not the previous. And especially it is the router feature on WAN up/down or load balancing. From the technical level, it seems to be impossible for the cloud controller to monitor it.
