Firmware Version: 1.2.0

Hi, is there any roadmap for a new firmware for the EAP683 UR?

I have both the EAP683UR and EAP673, and while the version number is larger for the EAP683UR, the device seems to be performing sub-optimally, according to its own device statistics.

The EAP683UR consistently has high TX and RX errors/dropped packets (ranging from 25% to 150%) for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. For CPU/Memory Monitor, it shows a steady CPU 1% and Memory 16%, never changes, it feels like its unresponsive to reality.

The EAP673 has virtually no dropped packets and the rate is never above 1%. I have swapped locations and cables, so I certain the issue is with the device/firmware. The CPU/Memory Monitor seems realistic, CPU 18% and Memory 60% - but the key thing is that it fluctuates.

Additionally, just to highlight how the EAP683UR firmware feels behind: for the device info it only shows the Busy and Free bars for both bands, but for the EAP673, there is more detail (Rx Frames, Tx Frames, Interference, Free)

it may be irrelevant but just to note, I have done the WLAN optimizations over 10 times already. I can share any photos or other info if needed.

Thank you.

Hi  @cp01

The statistical rules for tx/rx data for the EAP683 UR are not the same as for other EAPs.

Apart from the high dropped packets you mentioned, is there any wireless issue on the EAP683 UR, such as low speed, unstable wireless connection?

If yes, please give us more details about the wireless issues.

Hi. thank you for the reply. I was unaware of this, Is there any resource to learn more about statistical rules? Because I was just comparing the statistics page of the two AP assuming the data translates to the same meaning.

I walked around with my iPhone (tested 5ghz only) and the two APs seem to be similar when tested at a distance, so I cannot physically verify any wireless issues, unless there is there a better way to quantify this. The main weird thing I noticed though is that my distant esp32s (2.4GHz) are connecting to the further EAP673 instead of the closer EAP683UR. When I "lock AP", I notice that the EAP683UR has better signal (via Clients), dont know what to make of that.

Like I said, my concern came from seeing the data from the web interface itself (via Statistics > Client Traffic > Packet Loss Rate) , so If I am interpretting it incorrectly then there may not be any wireless issues.

Thank you.
