Hi,

i have installed a new omada Setup at home.

This consists of

I am also running a software controller (5.15) within docker. Everything seems to be working except my wifi clients (phones and notebooks) seem to loose their connectivity after being idle a couple of minutes. After waking up they are unable to connect to any other (internal) servers. After about 20 seconds the connection starts to work again. This occurs on Windows Notebook, Iphone and android devices. The devices do not loose wifi connection and remain in the client list of the controller all the time. During this short period also Ping requests time out.

It is quite similar to this post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/700510

I reverted every wifi setting to standard and also disabled ARP-to-Unicast Conversion. Although the timeout periods are shorter than in the other post this problem iss still very annoying,

I never had this issue with my old asus router. Is there anything i miss? It seems that the packets are not being forwarded to any device after the AP. The AP itself is directly connected to the gateway.

One thing however i noticed. The internal Servvers are having a fixed IP Address not obtained by dhcp and are being removed from the cliient list after around 11 minutes. May this casue the issue? So that somehow the oute to them is being forgotten?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Cheers

Re:Wifi Clients loose connectivity after some time being idle
Yesterday

I did some more investigation and also peformed a packet capture on the AP.

When a LAN Client is offliine to the controller due to not sending any packets for about 5 minutes WIFI clients are unable to connect to the LAN client for approx half a minute,

In the Network capture from the AP i see a lot of "ARP Who has 192.168.xxx.xxx (ip of the LAN Server)? Tell 192.168.xxx.xxx (IP of the Wifi Client).

LAN and WIFI Clients are iin the same vnet (default). So the question is why are Wifi Cliients unable to connect to "offline" Lan Clients, And iis there a workaround?

Cheers
