Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.6

I have 3 EAP225 outdoor AP's running as a MESH.  1 root with 2 HOW'S.

Hi,

I noticed today that when I tried to increase the 5Ghz power that the max permittable TX power differed between the root AP & the 2 HOP AP's

Root AP max 23 dBm

HOP' s 1 & 2 max 25 dBm

The max TX power for the 2.4 Ghz radios is the same.

All 3 EAP's are using the same 5Ghz channel. The 2.4Ggz radios are set to 1,6,11.

I appreciate that difference is minimal,  however it's not what I expected.

NOTE:

The root AP is new . Originally the root AP was a ER706W.  This is now only used as a router.

As for the tx power inquiry, this is mostly because the Root AP 5G channel is configured as fixed, so the settings at the Root AP will specify the power range according to the certification of the current channel (Band1 Band2 of this model is the maximum of 23dBm).

And the mesh APs are configured as Auto , so the settings will show the concatenation of all channels support power range (show the maximum of 25), which may be beyond the power range of the Root AP. But in fact, the mesh channel and Root are consistent, so it may not be the same, but in the existing situation, this mesh ap should be sent by 23dBm.

Regarding to the root AP disconnection issue, please update the firmware to the latest version 5.1.10 to see if the issue persists.

Are the three EAP225-outdoor all v3? Do you have v1 version?

Please send us a screenshot of the device page of the controller.

They are all the same.

1 think to add  , due to it happening again just after replying to you; this AP (AP 01) disconnects once a day. I can still ping the device but cannot get it back into the mesh without resseting the POE.
