NVR1008H Boot Loop
I restarted my NVR one time then it suddenly got stuck in a boot loop. The TP Link logo will show up but then it will beep three times then go black, after a few seconds it will then show me the logo and go black and its stuck in this cycle.
I bought a new HDD and the same issue happened. I bought an NVR1004 and the same issue happened. Would my TP Link POE be the cause of this?

Hi @teeppeee
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
What PoE? What do you mean? This NVR doesn't require PoE or supply PoE.
Based on the description, if your hard drive is fine, it should not beep.
Can you test the hard drive you have purchased? If it works fine on other computers, but not the NVR, you can consider going for RMA.

THE NVR DOESN'T NEED A POE SWITCH BUT MY CAMERAS DO!
I tested the old and newly bought NVR with MULTIPLE HDDs. Both beeped in all of them then went black. I even bought 3 new HDDs and wasted money thinking my HDDs might be the problem but they weren't.
Going back to the POE question... It was a wildcard question because I couldn't find any fault in my HDDs even after buying a NEW NVR. So I thought of asking if PERHAPS there might be some correlation.
If the main answer to every question in this forum is to RMA the products then I don't see the point of this forum

?
This is not a PoE switch or an NVR that supports PoE. What's wrong with asking what PoE is and what does it mean as you mentioned it in this context? And the NVR has nothing to do with your PoE switch.
What does the boot loop have anything to do with the PoE switch?
You did not describe what you experienced with the old and new NVR in the first description.
What's the problem with you? Don't be sarcastic and ignorant while you don't even communicate and explain yourself well.
The beeping sound is a problem with the hard drive. As you have changed a different drive, and it still enters the boot loop, what else could it be?
Power supply, as you have an old and a new, should not be a problem. The included power supply is fine for the device.

There's nothing wrong with asking what you asked. Its the ******* *** way you asked it. Instead of analyzing the problem you opted to ask it in a way neanderthals would ask. And you're asking me what's wrong with me?? You're also telling me to NOT BE SARCASTIC WHEN YOU'RE THE ONE WHO STARTED BEING SARCASTIC!!!??
The cameras are connected where? PoE Switch. The PoE Switch is connected where? NVR. The NVR stores data where? The HDD. Those FOUR things complete the "Circuit/System" yes? Without one of them the system wouldn't work yes?
Can you fault me for trying to think that the PoE Switch might have something to do with it if I already bought a new NVR and it's still beeping and just showing the logo then going black despite having multiple NEWLY BOUGHT HDDs?? What are the odds that all THREE HDDs that I bought from different stores would beep on both my NEW and OLD NVRs? If this is all by chance then I should have bought a lotto ticket instead.
For the record. If you took more than 2 seconds reading my initial post. You would have gotten all the information you needed. It was concise enough for people who can read. I want you to read the first description again.
First sentence: Explained that I already had a working system. A working NVR. I restarted just ONE TIME. Then the boot loop began.
Second Sentence: Explained that I bought an HDD and installed it in the old NVR since the beeping was a sign of a bad HDD (I KNOW THAT. THAT'S WHY I BOUGHT A NEW HDD) SAME THING HAPPENED.
Third sentence: Hmmm. New HDD doesn't work with old NVR. Old NVR must be broken. Bought a NEW NVR. Installed NEW HDD TO NEW NVR. SAME THING HAPPENED.
Is that how I'm supposed to explain it to you? Like a third grader? Where the hell is TP-Link getting their supports from? Is your real name pajeet? dyonatan?

Does it matter if you cannot even boot up the NVR? PoE matters or where it comes from. You especially mentioned it about the PoE but that's unrelated in my opinion.
There is no other context and you mentioned PoE. Why does it matter? You neglected it. Halfway explaining the things.
That's why I asked what PoE. And what do you mean by "PoE" thing in this context.
Without the PoE or camera, the NVR works. It would power up even if you don't have anything connected to it except for a HDMI/VGA monitor. It should bring you to the interface of the NVR.
You did not mention you have tried OLD and NEW NVR. If you have tried that, consecutively, two same models, different drives, same behavior, that's a different story.
Will that be a batch problem? That's what I am concerned about.
Given the situation of "boot loop" and trying different drives, and smart enough as you are, you should not use the wrong adapter, and the package included the original adapter. What would be wrong with the "go for the RMA"? Until you told me that you have OLD and NEW and both behaved the same way.
I've seen people like you giving hints to people while troubleshooting instead of being straightforward. It looks foolish to list everything you've tried, even the most basic one but that matters when you are syncing something to another person and asking for advice. I also help people with the motherboard and PC building on Reddit. That's really for communicating and syncing your situation with another person. I've seen tons of people fail to connect the power cable to their board and not boot up. Missing hard drive as they don't connect power or data cable. The most basic stuff matters. You don't have to trust me if you find me asking for simple stuff and seems to be foolish.
MAC addresses and S/N of both units. Device ID as well.

Ahh I see it now.
The way you talked, the way you asked; everything.
It all falls into place.
