Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have a ER7206 and TL-SG1024DE with a POE switch. I have this already setup with cameras which are poe. I was wondering if I want to use the oc200 would I need to reconnect all of the Poe cameras manually? Or would the oc200 automatically adopt the network as it stands with all devices connected? I am using different lans and vlans. Will I need to go back to factory defaults on everything? If not how would I accomplish the transition.

Hi @1TRUTH1GOD,

I'm not sure what you mean by re-connect all the cameras manually as they are not devices that can be adopted by the controller.  You do not need to unplug them while adopting the switch unless there is some concern about them being on the default LAN while the switch is configured.

The oc200 will not automatically adopt anything in your case and it's not cleaver enough to reverse engineer your current network to configure itself.  When a device is adopted, it will be reset to the default configuration and you will need to then use the controller to apply settings to the devices.  Thus, make configuration backups of the devices prior to adoption in case you need to switch back to a working system.

It would be best to connect the oc200 and configure as much as possible prior to adopting devices.  Some things like the VLANs and Switch Profiles can be created before adopting devices so you can easily compare settings, but assigning the the Switch Profile to a device's ports can only be done after adoption.

You should adopt one device at a time, configure it and verify that it's working before adding another.  The switch should be very easy to do based on the info you provided, so maybe start there.

Hi  @1TRUTH1GOD

One more thing, the switch TL-SG1024DE can't be adopted by OC200.

With the provided products, only the router ER7206 is Omada capable.
