Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.6

Hi All

I have three AP's, one in teh house, one in one shed and one in another shed - mesh network.

My iPhone, old old iPad work fine across all three areas but my laptop does not connect when in the first shed (have not tried the second shed).  It does connect in teh house with no issues at all.

It has connected to the AP because I can ping the AP, but I can not ping anything beyond the AP.

I have searched through Omada for any settings that may be causing the issue, but the WLAN is setup obviously the same for all AP's within the site settings.

I am not that familiar with Omada so I am obviously missing something somewhere.

I can not find any logs that would be indicating what the issue is either.

Security is WPA-Personal and only the 2.5 and 5GHz bands are in use.

The house AP is a EAP620 while the shed AP is a EAP225-Outdoor.

Any clues to solving the problem appreciated.

Thanks

Hi  @Znelbok1

Here are some suggestions:

1. **Check Network Cable and Connection** -

Make sure that the network cable connecting the EAP225-Outdoor in the first shed to other network devices is properly plugged in and not damaged. If possible, try replacing the cable to see if the problem is solved.

2. **Verify Wireless Settings** -

Try changing the wireless channel of the EAP225-Outdoor in the first shed to see if there is any interference affecting the connection.

3. **Check IP Address and DHCP Settings** -

On the laptop, check if it has obtained a correct IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server address when connected to the EAP225-Outdoor in the first shed. If possible, try setting a static IP address to see if it can access other devices.

4. **Update Firmware and Drivers** -

Log in to the Omada management interface and check if there is any firmware update available for the EAP225-Outdoor. Updating the firmware may fix some known bugs and improve network performance. - On the laptop, make sure that the wireless network card driver is up to date. Outdated drivers may cause compatibility issues with the wireless network.

5. **Test with Other Devices** -

Try connecting other devices to the EAP225-Outdoor in the first shed to see if they have the same problem. If other devices can access the network normally, the problem may be specific to the laptop. - If other devices also have the same issue, it indicates that the problem is likely with the EAP225-Outdoor or the network settings in the first shed.

Thanks

1 - AP works fine for iphones and other devices as stated - so cable connection is not the issue.

2 - Something I will try - but other devices are working fine so (IoT plugs, iPad. iPhone and firestick).

3 - No IP address obtained because DHCP server is not accessible. As stated, the laptop is connecting to the AP but no further into the network, thus the DHCP server is not accessible and thus the gateway and any DNS server is also not accessible. Running a static IP address is what allow the confirmation of the PING between the AP and the laptop and not being able to ping into the network any further.

4 - Firmware is all up to date with the latest available.

5 - As stated originally, many other devices work so the problem is isolated to the laptop (the one I am using right now on WiFi in the house). So it is limited to the laptop specifically with the EAP225-Outdoor.
