Hello folks

I would like to enable spanning tree and link between my two main switches.

Currently i have an "Aggregation" switch with a 10gbit link from my ER8411 to my SG3428X

From the SG3428X i have two multi-port LACP LAG links carrying all VLANs to my two main Distribution switches, and SG3452 (for LAN devices) and a SG2428LP (for POE APs etc)

I want to create a two port LACP LAG between the two distribution switches without causing a loop so any traffic from, say, an EAP going to my NAS on the same vlan doesnt have to go back up to the SG3428X and down the to the other switch and instead hops right to the other switch directly.

Do i need to enable rSTP in both distribution switches, or all 3 switches, and / or the switch port profile as well?

Topology, thick green line is the link i want to make

I may be misunderstanding what rSTP does and this may not be possible, im just not sure.

Main: ER8411 x1, SG3428X x1, SG3452 x1, SG2428LP x1, SG3210 x1, SG2218P x1, SG2008P x1, ES205G x2, EAP650 x6 Remotes: ER605 v2 x3, SG2008P x2, EAP650 x2 VPN Server: ER7206 v2 Controller: OC300

Hi @GRL

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

STP/RSTP is about blocking the loop if there is one.

If you have already LAG them, STP does not matter that much.
