We just purchased this. We can only run one device off it. When we have the tv plugged in the switch works fine and as soon as we plug the computer in we lose internet on the tv. If we have the computer plugged into to switch it works fine. But if we plug the tv into the switch we lose internet on the tv. The computer and tv work fine without the switch and plugged directly into the internet port in the wall.

help please?

Hi @Kimberley_j87,

I'm guessing that you needed to get a router and not a switch.  Check where the internet port on the wall goes.  If it doesn't lead to a device that has ports the may look like this...

then you probably don't have a router.  Depending on your internet provider you will commonly see one of the following...

  1. COAX Cable -> Cable Modem -> Ethernet (Internet/Net/Feed)
  2. Fiber Cable -> Optical Network Terminal -> Ethernet (Internet/Net/Feed)

At this point, you need to connect a router.  If you add a switch, you will only be able to use one device.  Many routers include a switch and wifi for adding multiple devices.  The pic above has a 4-port switch (yellow LAN ports); the blue WAN port plugs into the internet.
