Intermittent Network Disconnects on Mac Devices After Switching to ER8411
Good day,
I recently upgraded my router from a TL-ER5120 v3.0 to the ER8411 and have encountered a persistent connectivity issue. The initial setup was stable for a few days, but after approximately one week, both my MacBook and Mac Mini experience network disconnections every morning. A router restart temporarily resolves the issue, but the devices lose connectivity again the next day. Notably, my Windows desktop, which is on the same network, does not experience any disruptions.
For troubleshooting, I’ve already made the following configuration changes:
- Configured static IPs for my Mac devices through IP reservation (192.168.1.95 and 192.168.1.75) below the DHCP pool range (192.168.1.200-250).
- Set the DHCP lease time to 2880 minutes.
- Enabled ARP binding to ensure static IP allocation.
- Configured the default gateway to 192.168.1.1.
- Set the DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS)
- Updated the router firmware to the latest version.
Despite these changes, the issue persists. The connectivity loss is isolated to my Apple devices, with no impact on the Windows desktop. I suspect this could be related to specific network configurations or firmware issues.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have suggestions for further diagnostic steps or configurations to resolve this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
