Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.18.5 Build 20241211 Rel.56161 (Beta)

So I updated to:

2.18.5 Build 20241211 Rel.56161 (Beta) - OC200 V2.  This is just to let the admins etc know, it's just not upto the task when it comes to the Deep Packet Inspection.  Ever since I turned it on when it became available my controllers just died constantly.

I had no issues with my OC200 until I got firmware supporting DPI and turned it on.......... and now daily it weirdly drops out/reboots maybe at 3am........ all the wifi's state on my phone they've been adopted when I wake up, the OC200 every few days is just plain unresponsive, can't access the web login area or nothing have to full power off and on.

To fix it, I'll just have to disable the DPI........... it's just annoying because it's nice to see how all the data's being used, Ubiquiti's have this by default essentially........ so Omada's playing a massive catch up game here.

I do like the progress, new layouts firmwise wise etc........... still can't set Custom DNS for Static IP stuff.........  which again would be handy so some devices could bypass filters, some could go out parental controls etc etc etc.

I'd replace my OC200 with something more powerful there's nothing available.  The OC300 or OC400 are massive.  I don't want a software version (Linux or Windows).  I want a proper hardware device just powered on sitting there accessable remotely etc.  So it'd be nice if a NEWER version of the OC200 came out (same size) with more power and ram.  I would buy that.

Hopefully this can be seen and passed onto those doing the firmwares.

 Hi @MrHC1983

Thanks for your feedback.

Do you mean the issue only happens when the DPI is enabled?

What's the model number and version info of the gateway you are using?

We released a new version for hardware controller; if you don't mind, please update it and see the performance.

Omada SDN Controller_V5.15.8 Pre-Release Firmware(Update on Jan 8th, 2025)

Wish you a happy life and smooth network usage!

My OC200 is not working, give me a second I'll run over and pull the POE out lol ........ Then I'll supply the details in 5 mins when it boots back up. Arg.

OK.  5 Mins Later.

So I see there is a newer pre-release for the OC200 I think I have 2.18.5 and there is 2.19.1 so I'll update that.

The gateway is ER707-M2 v1.0 on version 1.23, I also have EAP615-Wall(US) v1.0, EAP610(EU) v3.0, EAP615-Wall(US) v1.0 <- All Version 1.5 Firmware

Updated to the newer firmware 2.19.1 ............ it's slower.  And whats worse, I just went to update a CLIENT NAME in the DHCP Reservation thing........  one worked, the second didn't......... spun then something about an error.  I refreshed the page and now the OC200 is offline not responding again.  (came up a minute later) ....... so slow.

Not looking good.  PLUS I can't turn on SSH for the OC200?  So I can reboot it remotely it required.

Re:OC200 - Deep Pack Inspection - MASS FAIL
Monday

Just coming back to this, the newer firmware seems to be working alot better.  Still would really like to be able to see the ability to set custom DNS for DHCP Reservations.  Also another thing thats REALLY annoying if on the Widgets showing like x devices and wifi signal.  I want to be able to click on the weak signal and see the devices that need moving.

Also for TPLink Techs.......  if you want to tighten those Firewall Timeouts, I've been running with the below settings for probably a year or so...... no issues.  If it's any assistance at all.  There appears to be a port forwarding/speed limitation........  hence why I started adjusting these.
