Model: VIGI NVR1008H
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Latest (Nov 2024)

Hi

I can add my old cameras manually using ONVIF and motion detection works as long as it is toggled to on on the channels events page as expected.

The problem is if I click apply on the events page i get an error "failed to save".

This means if the NVR reboots or I think even if the camera reboots then it comes back with motion detection toggled to off so no more motion detection.

Using ODM I can see that all the cameras do actually show movement events via ONVIF and they work fine until a reboot.

I also have a TP-link camera that shows up in discovery so I can add it with the + button.  This gets added with motion detection off but same thing if I turn it on and click apply I get the "failed to save" error.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I feel like either Im missing something or there is a problem with my firmware/hardware.

Thanks

  @AnotherDave

Kindly check this post https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/744234?replyId=1480700

I faced the same issue with motion detection on the NVR1008H. Motion events were not being detected properly, so I replaced it with an NVR2016H. The new NVR detected motion events correctly and worked fine. That's why I moved my old NVR1008H to another location where motion detection wasn't a priority.
