Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.6

A few months ago, I reconfigured my home network with Omada and set up two access points: EAP225 Outdoor and EAP245. I have three Wi-Fi SSIDs enabled: Home, IoT, and Guest.

Recently, I’ve been facing an intermittent issue where some cameras and IoT devices become inaccessible. The issue occurs randomly, and while the devices appear in the client list of the AP, any attempt to ping them results in “Destination unreachable.”

After extensive debugging, I’ve identified the problem: it happens when devices are connected to the EAP225 Outdoor access point. When I lock these devices to the EAP245, the issue does not occur.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far to resolve this:

  1. Resetting the EAP225 Outdoor.
  2. Replacing the Ethernet cable.
  3. Using a shorter cable.
  4. Testing the access point on different devices.

Any clues?

Hi  @yemzikk

How far away are the cameras from the EAP225-outdoor?

This is mostly because the wireless connections are unstable.

You may refer to the following to do some optimization:

@Vincent-TP Not related to distance because the nearest AP of the camera is EAP225 Outdoor (aprx 3mtr), EAP245 is far away (above 10mtrs) and I'm not getting any issues when I connect the camera to that AP
