Omada SDN Controller v5.15.6.7 on Debian 12 (Bookworm) - Success!
Hello,
TL;DR - Omada SDN Controller debian package can be installed on Debian 12 (Bookworm) using mongodb v7.
I noticed that the Omada SDN Controller now supports mongodb v7, so I decided to see whether I could install it on Debian Bookworm.
The steps I took to install were:
0. Backup existing config and shutdown <mild pejorative> old Debian 10 virtual machine.
1. Install Debian Bookworm from CD image with no optional packages.
2. Use apt to install standard curl, jsvc and openjdk-17-headless packages.
3. Follow the mongodb installation guide to install mongodb v7.
4. Download and install omada_v5.15.6.7_linux_x64_20241128140044.deb.
5. Restore configuration from backup (Warning: this disconnected my access points briefly).
It works! Great work TP-Link. I don't care if it isn't officially supported, I am happy.
Cheers,
Leigh.
