SM5310-T ver 1.2 Problem with speed
SM5310-T ver 1.2 Problem with speed
Hi everyone,
I use two modules SM5310-T v 1.2 with two indentical omada switch SG3428XMP v3.20. between module and patchpanel CAT 6 UTP 0,25m cable, lenght of CAT6A FTP cable 40meters. Same on both side. After some time o cannot acces to my controler thru this line. When i try internet speed it is only 1Mbit/s (standart 250Mbit/s). When i try to connect to OC200 directly speed and everything is ok? I dont know if I something wrong setup? Or where can be a problem?
UPDATE: It looks there is problem between two modules. If I do not use module on one side and put patch kabel tu trunk port 24 on switch it is working without problem.
Anyone help please?
Thanks for answer

Hi, this is the Iperf statistic. I used old PC but both witch 1Gbps LAN card. First is PC(rack1) - SW - 40m (CAT6A FTP) - SW - PC(rack2) thru metalic CAT6 patch cable from patch panel
Second is direct PC(rack1) - 40m (CAT 6A FTP) - PC(rack2).
Thanks for answer.

Is this the speed you have when the Internet has an issue?
It looks okay with a 40-meter cable to me. At least it proves that the LAN transmission is fine. If you have trouble with the Internet, that seems to be a problem with the router/ISP, I think.

Hi, no this is the speed when I have no problem with connections and DON´T use the SM5310-T ver 1.2 modules. Do you want the result with the modules?

Yes. As per the description you had you ran into trouble with the module and its Internet.
So, the test should be based on the SM5310-T and when the Internet is slow but the display of the link speed is correct, then do the iperf and I require a result of that to determine if there is a problem with the module or your Internet.

Hi, I have to little bit change the configuration on RACK1. I change the POE switch SG3428XMP (firmware 3.20.0 Build 20231019 Rel.60485) v3.2 to SG3452X v1.20 (firmware 1.20.2 Build 20240115 Rel.73737). So now I use module SM5310-T ver. 1.2 between SG3452 switches and it look everything works correct. I did some iperf control and it looks good. (now for 1 hour working).
This is result with module only on one side of connection.
This is the result with module on both sides. Speed is little bit worse but now uplink dont block RJ45 ports. :) But speed internet test on speedtest is 50Mbps higher.
So I think there is the problem in firmware POE switch SG3428XMP (firmware 3.20.0 Build 20231019 Rel.60485) but I did not test it yet. I hope in the friday I will test with iperf connection between two POE switches with modules.
