Microsoft Authenticator push notification fails when guest network is enabled
I have created a guest WiFi within my organization.
When the Guest Network checkbox is checked i will no longer receive a push notification from the Microsoft Authenticator on the employees' mobile phones.
This also occurs when the laptop connects to the guest WiFi network and the mobile phone is connected to the mobile network.
Anyone have any ideas how to get this working?

Hi @B_Bosman
What settings did you configure on the controller?
This is because the service requires clients to continuously communicate with the controller, when the guest network is enabled, it will block this kind of communication.

Hi @B_Bosman
The screenshot is the configuration of the guest network. I don't see any config related to Microsoft Authenticator.
Guest network will prevent wireless clients on the same AP from communicating with each other. And you already configure it.
Sorry, could you please tell us what's your requirements?

When the guest network is checked, I do not receive a Microsoft Authenticator notification on my mobile phone to log in to the network
My laptop is connected to the guest network via WiFi. My mobile phone has 5G mobile network. As soon as the check box is checked, no authenticator message will appear.
If i uncheck it, I will receive a notification on my mobile phone.
The outgoing request for an authenticator notification from my laptop is therefore blocked when the guest network is enabled.

Now I understand the issue.
What kind of application/service are you trying to access on the laptop?
Please share some screenshots of how the Microsoft Authenticator displays when the guest network is enabled and disabled separately.

I am trying to log into a windows 2016 terminal server using the microsoft remote desktop client.
I don't get a pop-up on my phone, while I normally get one when I log in to the Azure environment or Office365 environment.

Hi @B_Bosman
Do you have the authenticator app installed on the phone? You can launch the app and see those codes. This is how mine works.
