Force/lock connection via mesh instead of ethernet
Is there a way to force a device to connect to the network via wireless mesh vs. ethernet? Here's the situation:
Internet ---> Root AP ))))) wireless mesh link ))))) Remote AP ---> ethernet switch ----> Local AP
The remote AP should be locked to the Root AP via mesh, as the signal quality is best. The Local AP connects via the local ethernet switch and then across the mesh connection. This connection provides the best throughput and stability.
However, occasionally the Local AP connects via mesh instead, with very poor signal quality and then the Remote AP connects via ethernet. This causes the throughput and stability to tank.
I can usually reboot the Local AP which forces the Remote AP to re-connect via mesh, but not always. Sometimes the Local AP has to be physically powered off for a while to permit the Remote AP to re-connect.
How can I lock the Remote AP to ONLY connect via wireless mesh to avoid this situation?
Thanks!
