I'm planning my Omada setup (mostly Wifi 4 as it's affordable and enough for my purposes) and I want to clarify a few things...

When I want to do a wireless backhaul I need the mesh capable EAPs, that is EAP225, EAP245 and EAP265, correct? Do both the wired AP and the wireless AP need to be mesh capable?

I'm also a bit confused by the power options... I would think that surely for an AP with wireless backhaul it would make sense to power it from a wall wart and not by PoE. But strangely it's specifically the mesh capable ones that don't have a DC input. Am I missing something? I would understand if it was the other way around.

Edit, two more questions: Will 24V passive PoE devices work with the 48V injector? And will passive PoE devices work with a PoE switch (like TL-SG2008P or TL-SG2210P)?

Hi  @agent_kater

To build a mesh network via EAP, both the wired AP and the wireless AP need to be mesh capable.

For those EAP not have a DC input, they are more for POE scenarios.

Will 24V passive PoE devices work with the 48V injector? And will passive PoE devices work with a PoE switch (like TL-SG2008P or TL-SG2210P)?

>>>No and no.
